Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Takes a Loss

Pinnacle easily dispatched Non Varsity Opponent last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Pinnacle Panthers fell just short of the Monticello Buckaroo by a score of 36-33 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 34-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Monticello got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylee Freestone out in front who posted ten points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maron Freestone, who earned ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Pinnacle has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Monticello, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle will head out to take on Whitehorse at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monticello, they will square off against Monument Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
