Volleyball Recap: Yutan Comes Up Short

Yutan and Oakland-Craig squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Yutan had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Chieftains have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mylee Tichota paced Yutan's offense, picking up 18 kills. Tichota got some help from Morgan Long and her 18 assists. Kenzie Govier controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Madeline Pearson was a one-woman wrecking crew For Oakland-Craig. as she had 23 digs. That's the most digs Pearson has posted since back in September of 2024.

Yutan's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Oakland-Craig, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Yutan nor Oakland-Craig have any future games scheduled.
