Preview: Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles vs. Devon Prep Tide
The Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Devon Prep Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Conwell-Egan Catholic and three for Devon Prep.
Last Sunday, Conwell-Egan Catholic was beaten by Archbishop Ryan 67-26. Conwell-Egan Catholic has not had much luck with Archbishop Ryan recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Meanwhile, Devon Prep pushed their score all the way to 83 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 92-83 to Neumann-Goretti. While losing is never fun, Devon Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Neumann-Goretti is ranked second).
Conwell-Egan Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Devon Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Conwell-Egan Catholic lost to Devon Prep on the road by a decisive 72-56 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Conwell-Egan Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
