Villa Rica never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Helaina Magistro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. Villa Rica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennesaw Mountain only posted a batting average of .238.
Villa Rica's record is now 5-2. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Looking ahead, Villa Rica will head out to face off against East Paulding at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they have already played their next matchup, a 12-3 loss against Thomas County Central on the 22nd.
