Football Recap: Anna's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against Lovejoy last Friday, Anna came back down to earth. The Coyotes took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Melissa Cardinals on Friday. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Loss or not, Anna got some senior leadership from Ziondre Williams and Ace Traylor. Williams rushed for 70 yards and a pair of scores, while Traylor rushed for 63 yards and two TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Anna fell to 3-1. As for Melissa, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Anna will take on Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Coyotes will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Melissa, they will face off against Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will be up against the Leopards' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
