Basketball Game Preview: Brazoswood Buccaneers vs. Dickinson Gators

Brazoswood is 0-10 against Dickinson since November of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Brazoswood Buccaneers will host the Dickinson Gators at 1:00 p.m.

Brazoswood is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They took a blow against Clear Springs, falling 60-30. The Buccaneers were down 48-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Dickinson came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 61-52 victory over the Falcons. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Falcons are ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brazoswood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Dickinson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Brazoswood was taken down by Dickinson 66-8 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brazoswood was down 47-6.
