Basketball Recap: Dilley Wolves vs. Natalia Mustangs
The Dilley Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Natalia. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dilley in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Dilley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Benjamin Gonzales. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Dorian Aranda was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Dilley has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Natalia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-9.
Dilley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cowboys at 7:45 p.m. Cotulla is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Natalia, they will head out on the road to take on the Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
