Volleyball Recap: Wellington Beats American Heritage for Their Third Straight Win

Wellington waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the American Heritage Stallions as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-17.

Wellington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nico Martinez led the charge by getting 15 assists and three aces. Martinez has been hot, having posted 15 or more assists the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Salazar, who had six kills, five aces, and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Wellington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.

Wellington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13. As for American Heritage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for American Heritage, they will host Deerfield Beach at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
