Recap: Madill Wildcats vs. Idabel Warriors

The Madill Wildcats entered their tilt with the Idabel Warriors with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Madill walked away with a 49-36 win over Idabel on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Madill also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

It was another big night for Ethan Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Wilkerson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Greg Padgett, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Madill's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Idabel, their loss dropped their record down to 14-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madill and Sulphur will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sulphur will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Madill is ranked 21st). As for Idabel, they will head out on the road to square off against Ada at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ada focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
