Oak Park is 8-2 against Simi Valley since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Oak Park Eagles will welcome the Simi Valley Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Oak Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to Royal.

Meanwhile, Simi Valley lost 69-44 to Oxnard on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 75th).

Despite the loss, Simi Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caden Temme went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Oglivie, who posted four points and nine rebounds.

Oak Park's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Simi Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Oak Park against Simi Valley in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as the team secured a 69-28 win. Does Oak Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Simi Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
