Volleyball Recap: Beyer Beats Johansen for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Beyer had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Johansen Vikings 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Beyer took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-8.

Leading Beyer to victory were Cruz Hibbard and Antonio Rivera. Hibbard had eight assists and four digs, while Rivera had three aces. Those three aces gave Rivera a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Beyer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matches.

Beyer's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Johansen, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
