Whitney had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won by a run and slipped past the Clovis North Broncos 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Taylor Cordell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emma Rabe was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Whitney hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clovis North struck out seven times.
Whitney's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-9.
