Basketball Recap: John Hay Takes a Loss

John Hay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 77-61 to the Garrett Morgan Falcons. John Hay was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Garrett Morgan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, John Hay still got an impressive performance from Taevon Walker, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Williams, who scored 11 points.

Isiah Hickman went supernova for Garrett Morgan, going 10 of 17 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchel Exantus, who put up nine points along with eight boards and four steals.

John Hay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Garrett Morgan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

John Hay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-50 loss against Hawken on the 7th. As for Garrett Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-54 win against Midview on the 7th.
