Softball Recap: Hershey Beats Bishop Mcdevitt for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Hershey waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders 13-5. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Emily McConville made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. McConville was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Hershey let Danielle Blaze and Sarah Young run wild. Blaze went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Young went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Young has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Weiler-Timmins, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Hershey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.

Hershey's record is now 13-6. As for Bishop McDevitt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hershey will host West York Area at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop McDevitt, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Greencastle-Antrim at 11:00 a.m.
