Football Game Preview: Washington School for the Deaf Terriers vs. Easton

The Washington School for the Deaf Terriers will face off against Easton at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Washington School for the Deaf is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Wishkah Valley last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Terriers had to suffer through a 56-13 loss at the hands of the Loggers. The Terriers were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Despite the loss, Washington School for the Deaf had strong showings from Nathan Yerkes, who gained 139 total yards and a touchdown, and Michael McCullough, who rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. The Terriers also got a significant boost from Valentin Medina, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

Washington School for the Deaf didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Yerkes.

Meanwhile, Easton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Mary M. Knight, falling 41-12.

Washington School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Easton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Washington School for the Deaf was taken down by Easton 61-19 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Terriers were down 47-19.
