Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Comes Up Short

Cypress Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Land O' Lakes Gators. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Coyotes have suffered since March 18, 2024.

Emily Bowling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Cypress Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Solenia Suarez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Brianna Regan also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Cypress Creek now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Land O' Lakes, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-9.

Coming up, Cypress Creek will face off against Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Coyotes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stingrays have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Land O' Lakes, they will head out on the road to challenge Sunlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
