Izard County is a perfect 4-0 against Sloan-Hendrix since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will challenge the Greyhounds at 3:30 p.m. Izard County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Sloan-Hendrix's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Izard County fell victim to Heber Springs and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sloan-Hendrix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of Marshall.

Rylee Brown stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole four bases while going 5-for-5. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Allison French was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Sloan-Hendrix's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Izard County, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-4.

Izard County took their victory against Sloan-Hendrix in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-2 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greyhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
