Softball Recap: Blue Hills RVT Takes a Loss

Blue Hills RVT extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-5 in the process. They came up short against the Southeastern RVT Hawks, falling 7-1. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jayden Craft made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base.

As for Southeastern RVT, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

On Southeastern RVT's side, Becca Hornung made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Hornung has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Hornung wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Precourt, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Abby Spencer was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Blue Hills RVT will be playing in front of their home fans against Diman RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeastern RVT, they are taking a road trip to take on Tri-County RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
