Baseball Game Recap: Tipton Tigers vs. Durant Wildcats

Tipton had lost seven straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-13 to make it eight. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-5 to the Durant Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-5 defeat on Monday.

As for Durant, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Durant's part, the team relied heavily on Owen Collier, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Collier a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colby Gast, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Tipton will face off against Calamus-Wheatland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Durant, they will head out on the road to challenge Midland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
