Basketball Recap: McDonogh Takes a Loss

McDonogh was the 54-53 winner over St. Frances Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The McDonogh Eagles fell 57-46 to the St. Frances Academy Panthers on Saturday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 15-9 in the first quarter.

It was another big night for Heidi Williams, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds for St. Frances Academy. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mone'T Edwards, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 16 points.

McDonogh's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for St. Frances Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

McDonogh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-55 win against Poly on the 3rd. As for St. Frances Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-47 victory against McDonogh on the 5th.
