Basketball Game Preview: Leipsic Vikings vs. Ottoville Big Green

Leipsic hasn't had much luck against Ottoville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Leipsic Vikings will take on the Ottoville Big Green at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Leipsic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Vanlue on Thursday by a score of 45-26 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Ottoville entered their tilt with Elida on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 58-46 victory over the Bulldogs. The Big Green pushed the score to 50-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Ottoville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Leipsic, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Leipsic suffered a grim 55-31 defeat to Ottoville in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Leipsic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
