Basketball Recap: Forest Area Comes Up Short

Forest Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-40 back in January.

It was another big night for Weston Kinney, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds for Grand Traverse Academy. Kinney is becoming a predictor of Grand Traverse Academy's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 7-3 (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Nate Dix, who posted seven points.

Forest Area's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Coming up, Forest Area will venture away from home to take on Central Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grand Traverse Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
