Basketball Recap: Parrish Community Takes a Loss

After soaring to 63 points the game before, Parrish Community was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They took a blow against the River Ridge Royal Knights, falling 49-16. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Royal Knights are ranked 118th).

Sarala Ryherd was Parrish Community's leading scorer, having posted five points. Romana Lind held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

River Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Lee led the charge by putting up eight points along with 11 boards and seven steals. Lee has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Wade, who posted ten points in addition to eight steals and six boards.

Parrish Community's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for River Ridge, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Parrish Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-24 victory against Bayshore on the 17th. As for River Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-20 win against Hudson on the 17th.
