Volleyball Game Preview: Monterey Dores vs. Pioneer Mustangs

The Monterey Dores will challenge the Pioneer Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Monterey is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Carmel just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Padres. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dores have suffered since March 4th.

While Monterey was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Pioneer came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Raiders.

Pioneer had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 28-26, 25-9, 25-13.

Pioneer pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Monterey, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-13.
