After a string of eight wins, Haxtun's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Byers Bulldogs.

Byers was led to victory by Quincy Eacret and James Maes. Eacret went 9-for-17 on his way to 21 points and four steals, while Maes posted 17 points. The game was Maes' third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Engle, who earned four points.

Haxtun's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Byers, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Haxtun has already played their next matchup, a 61-32 win against Del Norte on the 7th. As for Byers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-31 victory against Center on the 7th.
