Basketball Recap: Smithville Find Success

Smithville won the last time they faced West Lowndes, and Sophie Hass did her part to make sure it happened again. The Smithville Seminoles took down the West Lowndes Panthers 50-36 on Thursday thanks in part to Hass, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Summerford, who posted six points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

The victory got Smithville back to even at 8-8. As for West Lowndes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Smithville and Okolona will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Okolona will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Smithville surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Lowndes, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Winona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Lowndes is facing Winona at the right time seeing as Winona is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
