Game recap: Union Mine High School Football Team defeats El Dorado

Thanks to the stand out performance the senior now has 10 touchdowns on the season.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Sean Tow in the first quarter, Union Mine (El Dorado, Calif.) led 25-14 at the half.

The Diamondbacks expanded their lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. Union Mine scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Tow.

UM secured its victory by scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to push the final margin to 25.

Tow played well for the El Dorado school in the victory. The senior kicked five extra points. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.



El Dorado (Placerville, Calif.)'s Nick Bonniksen played well. The sophomore quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.

When the two teams played each other last season, the Diamondbacks came away with a 48-21 victory.

In a Sierra Valley game next week El Dorado (2-7) takes on Galt, and Union Mine (2-7) will go up against Vista del Lago also in a Sierra Valley game.
