Baseball Recap: Shoreland Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Racine Lutheran/Prairie

Shoreland Lutheran won the last time they faced Racine Lutheran/Prairie and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pacers blew past the Crusaders 15-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pacers.

Michael Curran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Curran was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Shoreland Lutheran's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-8-1 when he doesn't).

In other pitching news, Robert Triplett looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has become a key player for Shoreland Lutheran: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8-1 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Shoreland Lutheran got a massive performance out of Slayton Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Craig, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Shoreland Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Racine Lutheran/Prairie only posted an OBP of .286.

Shoreland Lutheran's record is now 10-8-1. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Shoreland Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-5 loss against Mayville on the 19th. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Living Word Lutheran on the 16th.
