Football Recap: Payton College Prep Beats Clark for Their Sixth Straight Win

Payton College Prep had won five straight games and Joshua Williams did his part to make it six on Saturday. The Grizzlies claimed a resounding 34-0 victory over the Clark Eagles for which the team can thank Williams, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 75 yards.

Payton College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as John Seward, Williams, and Issac Wilson picked up one apiece.

Payton College Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Payton College Prep is set to face off against their familiar foe Kenwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Grizzlies 7.8, the Broncos 14.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Clark will challenge rival Whitney Young at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
