Preview: Wray Eagles vs. Caliche Buffaloes
The Wray Eagles will be playing at home against the Caliche Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Wray unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Denver Christian.
Despite the defeat, Wray got a solid performance out of AB Ruiz, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Ruiz hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Alex Trejo was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Caliche came up short against Sedgwick County on Friday and fell 50-40. Caliche has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wray's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Caliche, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5.
Everything went Wray's way against Caliche in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Wray made off with a 65-41 win. Does Wray have another victory up their sleeve, or will Caliche turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
