Volleyball Recap: Canyon del Oro Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Buena, Canyon del Oro was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They skirted past the Palo Verde Titans 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Dorados in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Canyon del Oro had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 16-14.

Mason Boothe paced Canyon del Oro's offense, picking up 15 kills. Boothe got some help from Isaac Rivas Dauria and his 18 assists. Rivas Dauria was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Canyon del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 14-17. As for Palo Verde, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11.

Canyon del Oro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Mountain View on the 1st. After both having extra time off, Palo Verde and Northwest Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
