Basketball Recap: Logan Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Tooele wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Logan, they should've done a better job of containing Reed Olsen. The Logan Grizzlies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tooele Buffaloes on Thursday, sneaking past 53-51 thanks in part to Olsen, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 20 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Logan's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Jensen, who posted three points and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Tooele still got an impressive performance from Crew Lewis, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points along with five assists and five boards. Grady Symonds was another key player, putting up ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Logan and bumps their season record up to 4-6. As for Tooele, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Logan and Mountain View will meet on Friday for a tough Bear Battle. Mountain View will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Logan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tooele, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jordan at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Tooele is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
