Basketball Game Preview: Leesburg Yellow Jackets vs. Fivay Falcons

The Leesburg Yellow Jackets will square off against the Fivay Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Leesburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 57-46 win over Lecanto. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets who have now won three matches in a row.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fivay beat Wesley Chapel 66-60 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Dominick Walsh and Ethan Hicks. Walsh had a great game and went 10 of 17 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Meanwhile, Hicks did his best for the losing side, putting up 17 points.

Leesburg pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Fivay, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Leesburg didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Fivay in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, but they still walked away with a 66-61 win. Will Leesburg repeat their success, or does Fivay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
