Basketball Recap: Ridgeland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Royal Live Oaks Academy last Tuesday, Ridgeland came back down to earth. Ridgeland were dealt an 86-44 defeat at the hands of the Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders on Friday. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Bamberg-Ehrhardt is ranked 56th).

Ridgeland dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Ridgeland has already played their next match (against Goose Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bamberg-Ehrhardt will head out to take on Allendale-Fairfax at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bamberg-Ehrhardt's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Allendale-Fairfax's offense will have their work cut out for them.
