Statesboro is 8-2 against Effingham County since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Statesboro Blue Devils will look to defend their home court against the Effingham County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Statesboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season.
Last Saturday, Statesboro didn't have too much trouble with Glynn Academy as they won 68-50. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Terrors are ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Statesboro can attribute much of their success to Ja'Caiden Cone, who went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points and five rebounds, and Dartavian (Dj) Brown, who went 6 of 9 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Cone's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Camdyn Wilkerson, who posted 11 points.
Statesboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Effingham County ended up a good deal behind Greenbrier on Saturday and lost 54-38. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now lost three in a row.
Statesboro will need to focus on slowing down Anthony Davis, one of several Effingham County players who made an impact when they last played. He earned eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyjah Doty, who had six points and six boards.
Effingham County's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Statesboro, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Statesboro has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Effingham County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Statesboro against Effingham County in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 61-34 win. Does Statesboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Effingham County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
