Volleyball Recap: Chatham Triumphs

Chatham won the last time they faced Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cavaliers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Ospreys. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Chatham was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-10.

Jasmine Smoot paced Chatham's offense, picking up five kills. Smoot got some help from Macie Short and her eight assists. Smoot was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Chatham's record is now 11-5. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chatham is set to face off against their familiar foe William Campbell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy will take on rival Appomattox County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
