Softball Recap: Sheldon's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sheldon came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Franklin Wildcats. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Micah Kennedy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sinitalela Heleta, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kwinci Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Sheldon's record is now 8-3. As for Franklin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6-1 record this season.

Sheldon will venture away from home to face off against Vanden at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Sheldon's pitchers better be ready for this one: Vanden has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Franklin, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Elk Grove at 4:00 p.m. Elk Grove's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Franklin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
