Football Recap: Southwest Louisiana Homeschool Starts Season with Win at Home

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 52-0 victory over the Freedom Life Academy Patriots. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool pushed the score to 46-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Freedom Life Academy had no chance of recovering from.

Brady Leblanc went supernova, rushing for 78 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 125 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 78 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brody Habetz and Dominique Morrison. Morrison has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last four times he's played. Habetz got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will challenge Northshore V at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Freedom Life Academy, they will face off against Mount Olive Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
