Recap: Everglades Gators vs. Wellington Wolverines

It was a good run, but the Everglades Gators unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Wellington on the road by a decisive 82-66 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Despite the loss, Everglades still got an impressive performance from Daunte Foster, Jr, who scored 32 points. Those 32 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Lance Bailey, Jr, who scored 12 points.

Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Wellington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Everglades and Pembroke Pines Charter will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Pembroke Pines Charter's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Wellington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elite Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th. Elite Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Wellington is ranked 44th).
