Recap: Ashe County Huskies vs. Hibriten Panthers
Even though the Ashe County Huskies have not done well against the Hibriten Panthers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ashe County managed a 46-40 win over Hibriten. That's two games straight that Ashe County has won by exactly six points.
Ashe County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Graybeal led the charge by scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Lemly, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Ashe County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Hibriten, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13.
Ashe County will take on Freedom at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hibriten, they will head out on the road to take on Alexander Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
