Baseball Recap: Flint Southwestern Academy Takes a Loss

Flint Southwestern Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 27-9 to the Atherton Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 21-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Matthew Kendall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Nuriah Brown was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Flint Southwestern Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Atherton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flint Southwestern Academy will challenge Hamady at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Atherton, they will welcome Bendle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
