Soccer Game Preview: Strayhorn vs. Byhalia

The Strayhorn Mustangs will challenge the Byhalia Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Strayhorn has given up an average of 4.8 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Strayhorn is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Saturday, they were much more limited against Lake Cormorant on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to Lake Cormorant. Strayhorn haven't had much luck with Lake Cormorant recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Byhalia, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They never let Independence get on the board and left with a 5-0 win two weeks ago. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Byhalia's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Strayhorn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Byhalia, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Strayhorn came out on top in a nail-biter against Byhalia in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
