Basketball Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the McCutcheon Mavericks and fell 78-24. While losing is never fun, the Hot Dogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Mavericks are ranked 111th).

Frankfort's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Adams, who posted eight points.

It was another big night for Brody Baker, who went 9-for-14 to rack up 23 points and five rebounds for McCutcheon. Baker has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times he's played. Owen Souligne was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 15 points and five assists.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for McCutcheon, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Frankfort has already played their next contest, a 90-59 loss against Southmont on the 21st. As for McCutcheon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-41 victory against Benton Central on the 18th.
