Volleyball Preview: Northeastern Meets Monroe Central

The Northeastern Knights will take on The Monroe Central Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Northeastern came up short against Shenandoah and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 18-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Monroe Central made easy work of Union on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Monroe Central never let Union take a set, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-10, 25-11, 25-23.

Northeastern better focus on containing Maylynn Morrison and Bentley Pegg as the pair were huge in Monroe Central's win. Morrison had 11 digs, 10 kills, and five aces, while Pegg had 29 assists and 11 digs. Another player making a difference was Bristol Goad, who had nine digs and two aces.

Monroe Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Northeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
