Basketball Game Preview: Houghton Gremlins vs. Jeffers Jets

The Houghton Gremlins will head out on the road to challenge the Jeffers Jets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Tuesday, Houghton was beaten by Marquette 98-50. While losing is never fun, the Gremlins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Redmen are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Jeffers lost 51-25 to Gwinn on Saturday. The game marked the Jets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Jeffers' defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Houghton, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.

Everything came up roses for Houghton against Jeffers in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 77-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Houghton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
