Basketball Game Preview: East Grand Rapids Pioneers vs. Ottawa Hills Bengals

The East Grand Rapids Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Ottawa Hills Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, East Grand Rapids came up short against Forest Hills Northern and fell 50-37. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Ottawa Hills had to suffer through a 57-18 loss at the hands of Catholic Central. The game marked the Bengals' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ottawa Hills has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for East Grand Rapids, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

East Grand Rapids was able to grind out a solid win over Ottawa Hills when the teams last played back in January, winning 50-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Grand Rapids since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
