Catholic Memorial had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans, posting a 35-7 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won 13 contests in a row dating back to last season.

Kise Flannery had an outrageously good game as he threw for 131 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 46 yards. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ibrahim Kaba, who gained 53 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Catholic Memorial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Catholic Memorial will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Francis at 1:00 p.m. on the 20th. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Trojans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
