Baseball Recap: Eugene Comes Up Short

Eugene fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Iberia on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 13-7 to the Rangers. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Eugene saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garet Wood, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Wood has posted since back in April of 2024.

Eugene's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Iberia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eugene will host New Bloomfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iberia, they will face off against Belle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belle will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Iberia surely won't give up without a fight.
