Baseball Recap: Abbeville Christian Academy Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Abbeville Christian Academy walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Patrician Academy Saints on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Generals have posted since February 22nd.

Taylor Bower spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Abbeville Christian Academy is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Riddge Crawford was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Abbeville Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 12-16 when he doesn't).

Abbeville Christian Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-16. As for Patrician Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Saints beat Abbeville Christian Academy by a score of 20-4 later that day.
