Baseball Recap: Kennedy Triumphs

Kennedy lost to Chavez back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Titans 9-8.

Jermaine Brown Jr. was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Kennedy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-12 when he doesn't). Sean Whitfield was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Kennedy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Chavez, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-1 victory against Johnson on the 31st. As for Chavez, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-4 win against Foothill on the 30th.
